Sorry it has been so long since I’ve written. These last two weeks have been killers. Some of you know I’ve been feeling sick. My doctor says I’ve got pancreatitis (inflammation of my pancreas caused by a blocked common bile duct) and maybe an ulcer or two. This has been going on for the last 5 months or so. It started out as heartburn which kept getting more severe. Somewhere along the way I started not feeling the burning sensation as much as a stabbing pain just below my sternum (breast bone). My doctor, again, increased my medication which seemed to work for a little while and then the pain returned. Finally, he sent some blood in for testing and found my lipase level was high (63 units per liter). My norm is between 7 and 60. They retested a few days later and found it had increased to 98 units per liter and set me up with a Gastroenterologist. I’ve got an appointment Monday to consult with the specialist. Until it’s resolved, I’m on the most bland and boring diet I’ve ever been on! Even saltines upset my stomach so I’ve been eating cereal, spaghetti, jell-o, and peas/corn. No spices, no flavor, no grease, no fat…no appetite. On a good note, I’ve been able to start losing weight at a good but healthy rate! unfortunately, I haven’t been to the gym in about a week and a half because I’ve been holed up on my bed trying to rock the pain away.
Rod and I found a house in Texas when I was down there a couple of weeks ago. It’s in a good neighborhood, surrounded by nice houses, and we got a great deal on it. We’re in the middle of all the paperwork, which is incredibly lengthy, and trying to gather all other required documentation for the mortgage company. With Rod being half a world away it’s much harder. I don’t know what I’d do without my trusty scanner! 🙂
Other than that, school is going well. Still job hunting and trying to nail down some plans for moving and getting ready for Rod to come home. As of this past Wednesday, he has been gone for 6 months…WE’RE ON THE DOWNHILL NOW EVERYBODY!! 😀
Bible Chapters Read: 1 Chronicles 11 – Nehemiah 3
I’m getting into the chapters I haven’t read before finally. Ezra and Nehemiah are completely new to me. I liked the stories of the Jews returning from exile to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the temple. Like Rod, I’m most excited to get into Ezekiel and Daniel to read about the End Times prophecy! With all the instability going on in the Middle East right now, you never know how close His return might be!
